Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with gowns and drapes, and explaining procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis and EKGs, following strict protocols.
- Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow in the reception area.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients of all ages, answering questions and offering reassurance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or CMAA) preferred.
- Entry-level candidates with strong academic records are encouraged to apply.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Reliable transportation and a willingness to work various shifts, including weekends.
