Responsibilities
- Patient Assistance: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Comfort Care: Provide emotional support, companionship, and comfort to patients and their families.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in condition in electronic health records.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status.
- Safety: Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients by following proper protocols and infection control measures.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required (or currently enrolled in a state-approved CNA program).
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to use medical equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
