Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and record patient medical history.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurses during patient examinations and procedures.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, send reminder calls, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Inventory: Manage stock levels of medical supplies and instruments, ensuring rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized.
- Records: Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and paper charts.
- Lab Work: Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing as directed by the medical staff.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team to ensure clear communication of treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Experience: No prior experience required; we offer comprehensive training for entry-level candidates.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency and typing skills; knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Availability: Must be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and occasional evenings.
- License: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred; willing to obtain upon hire.
