Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight, during initial assessments.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, including preparing patients, drawing blood, and performing EKGs.
- Administrative Duties: Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Lab Coordination: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control standards.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, follow-up care, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock examination rooms and medical supply closets to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a strong plus.
- Certification: Current certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred; we offer reimbursement for certification exams for eligible candidates.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with medical software or EMR systems.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform tasks that require fine motor skills.
