Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vitals: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance and demographic information, and accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiration).
- Clinical Support: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies; assist providers with patient exams and minor procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, manage patient charts in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and handle phone inquiries professionally.
- Laboratory Tasks: Perform basic lab tests, such as urine analysis or blood draws, following strict safety and accuracy protocols.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications or injections as directed by physicians, ensuring proper documentation.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain strict infection control standards, sterilize equipment, and ensure the clinical environment is clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred (entry-level candidates with relevant experience or strong willingness to train will be considered).
- Certification: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) software systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, patience, and a professional demeanor when interacting with patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical tasks associated with clinical care.
