Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and vital sign monitoring
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and medical supplies
- Electronic health records (EHR) documentation and data entry
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- North Carolina state medical assistant license
- Experience with electronic prescribing (eRx) systems
