Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs and updating medical histories.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures, including drawing blood and administering injections.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and process specimens accurately under supervision.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and maintain patient charts in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and verifying insurance information.
- Provide patient education and answer questions regarding treatment plans and medications.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient visits.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems (EMR) is highly desirable.
