Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen processing
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow and manage appointment scheduling efficiently
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Active MA certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
