Responsibilities
- Measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with examination attire and positioning.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms to ensure infection control standards are met.
- Manage patient medical records and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and promptly.
- Assist with basic laboratory procedures, including blood draws and specimen collection.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and answer questions, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or equivalent experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record systems.
