Responsibilities
- Clinical Support: Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and verify insurance information accurately.
- Medication Management: Administer injections and medications as directed by licensed physicians and nurses.
- Coordination: Schedule appointments, process lab results, and coordinate specialist referrals.
- Patient Communication: Educate patients on treatment plans and provide exceptional customer service at every touchpoint.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- License: Valid New York State Medical Assistant license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a busy medical practice.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication and a compassionate demeanor.
