Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab procedures
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Coordinate patient scheduling and follow-up communications
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a fast-paced medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or preferred)
- Certification in BLS/CPR and phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
