Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient intake, including medical history collection, vital signs, and physical examinations under the supervision of a provider.
- Assist physicians and nurses with clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and wound care.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, ensuring all patient data is up-to-date and confidential.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
- Process insurance verifications and handle basic administrative duties such as billing and coding support.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and ensuring a comfortable experience.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
