About the Role:
The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in our clinical operations, ensuring patients receive high-quality care while managing administrative and clinical tasks remotely. This position requires excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient privacy and safety.
Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Triage: Conduct remote patient intakes, verify insurance information, and prepare patients for virtual or in-person consultations.
- Vital Signs & Measurements: Accurately record and interpret vital signs, weight, and height for all patients.
- Assist with Procedures: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers with basic clinical procedures and injections.
- Lab & Diagnostics Coordination: Coordinate and schedule diagnostic tests, such as blood draws and X-rays, and communicate results to patients.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), process referrals, and handle correspondence.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or RNC) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff remotely.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are preferred.
- Reliability: Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
