Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures, including administering injections and medications.
- Perform and process laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and hospital admissions.
- Provide patient education and instruction regarding medications and post-care procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR/EHR software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
