Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify demographics, and obtain vital signs prior to provider consultation.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Administrative Duties: Manage appointment scheduling, update electronic health records (EHR), and process lab requisitions.
- Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing accurately and efficiently.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe clinical environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or CMAA) required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty medical office preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR/EHR software (Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner) and medical terminology.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
