Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and obtain accurate medical history.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and clinical procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams and explain treatment procedures clearly and compassionately.
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and verifying insurance information.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in strict accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administer medications and perform basic lab tests (phlebotomy) as directed by the provider.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle the physical demands of the job.
