Responsibilities
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, injections, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain organized medical charts
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications
- Coordinate with insurance companies for billing verification
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- New Mexico state medical assistant license required
