Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams and procedures as directed.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Specimen Collection: Perform basic phlebotomy and collect lab specimens according to strict protocols.
- Room Preparation: Clean, sanitize, and organize examination rooms and medical equipment between patients.
- Communication: Relay important messages to the healthcare team and provide patient education on medications and treatments.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and a compassionate, patient-focused demeanor.
