Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examinations by physicians and nurses.
- Clinical Duties: Perform vital signs, EKGs, and administer injections or vaccinations as directed by providers.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage patient charts, update electronic health records (EHR) accurately, and handle front-desk reception duties.
- Lab Support: Collect and process blood samples (phlebotomy) and other laboratory specimens according to strict protocols.
- Communication: Relay important messages between patients, families, and medical staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or NCMA certification required.
- Licensure: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in Epic or Cerner EHR systems and strong computer literacy.
