Responsibilities
- Greet and Register Patients: Ensure a welcoming environment by checking patients in, updating their information, and verifying insurance details.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist physicians and nurses during patient exams.
- Vital Signs & Measurements: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight.
- Lab & Specimen Collection: Collect blood and other specimens, ensuring all samples are labeled and processed correctly for laboratory analysis.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, strictly following safety protocols.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on medication instructions, post-care procedures, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CMAA) required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation and clinical procedures.
