Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer injections, medications, and perform EKGs under provider supervision
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain accurate documentation
- Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory testing
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and manage front desk operations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Maintain sterile exam rooms and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification and BLS certification required
- 1+ years of clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Kansas City medical assistant certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
