Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Provider Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient intake, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Lab & Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, EKGs, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of examination rooms and medical equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Communication: Relay important health information to patients and collaborate effectively with the front desk and nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Professionalism: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor.
