Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and document results accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including minor surgical support and wound care.
- Prepare patients for visits, obtain complete medical histories, and update patient records.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with the laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments to facilitate timely test results.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized clinical environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Greet patients warmly, answer phone inquiries, and manage front desk reception duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
