Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Administrative: Handle patient check-in/check-out processes, verify insurance information, and process billing accurately.
- Medication: Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider, ensuring proper documentation.
- Facility: Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Organization: Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
