Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and vitals.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs as directed by the provider.
- Assist physicians and nurses during procedures and examinations.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy healthcare environment.
- Physical stamina required to stand for long periods and assist with patient mobility.
