Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics and insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient exams, including taking vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab work (phlebotomy).
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately, and handle front-desk reception tasks as needed.
- Procedures: Perform wound care, injections, and other medical procedures as directed by the provider.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sanitized clinical environment and adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and coordinate referrals to specialists.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification preferred; willing to obtain within 6 months.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or family practice setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and strong computer skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
