Responsibilities

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics and insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
  • Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient exams, including taking vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab work (phlebotomy).
  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately, and handle front-desk reception tasks as needed.
  • Procedures: Perform wound care, injections, and other medical procedures as directed by the provider.
  • Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sanitized clinical environment and adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and coordinate referrals to specialists.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification preferred; willing to obtain within 6 months.
  • Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or family practice setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and strong computer skills.
