Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including vital sign monitoring, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures in emergency and urgent care settings
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow and prepare examination rooms for overnight procedures
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
- Collaborate with night shift nursing team to ensure seamless care transitions
- Respond to after-hours patient inquiries with empathy and clinical accuracy
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced healthcare environment
- BLS/CPR certification with ability to obtain ACLS within 6 months
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or NextGen preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask during high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Ohio state license or eligibility to obtain immediately
