Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and verify their information upon check-in to ensure a smooth intake process.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers and updating medical histories.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including phlebotomy, blood draws, and specimen processing.
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, and answering phone inquiries.
- Provide basic patient education and medication instructions under the supervision of a licensed provider.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; a degree in a medical field is a plus but not mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility as needed.
- Reliable transportation and a history of punctuality.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new medical procedures.
