Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist Providers: Work closely with physicians and nurses to ensure smooth clinic operations, including rooming patients and preparing examination rooms.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, schedule appointments, and handle incoming calls.
- Phlebotomy & Labs: Perform basic laboratory tests and draw blood samples when trained (on-the-job training provided).
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, follow-up care, and wellness tips.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for all.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform tasks that require fine motor skills.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
