Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, double-checking dosages and interactions to ensure patient safety.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vitals and response to interventions, documenting all changes and symptoms immediately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Patient & Family Education: Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medication side effects, and discharge instructions.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to navigate electronic health record systems and documentation tools.
