Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and sanitized.
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a physician.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in the EMR system.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and manage check-in/check-out processes.
- Provide patient education regarding medications and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) is highly desirable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume clinical setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) software systems.
