Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Assist with phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing as required.
- Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and prepare patient charts.
- Provide patient education and instruction regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Answer phone inquiries and route messages to the appropriate medical staff promptly.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or similar credential from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Proficient in computer skills, including electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
