Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics and insurance information, and prepare them for examination.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient exams, minor procedures, and injections as directed.
- Vitals & Labs: Accurately measure and record vital signs (BP, HR, RR, Temp) and collect specimens for laboratory testing.
- Administrative Duties: Manage electronic health records (EMR), schedule appointments, and handle prescription refills.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized examination room environment to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, or AthenaHealth) and computer applications.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
