- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify demographics, and accurately record medical histories and vital signs.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood samples, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administrative Duties: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and maintain a clean, sterile clinical environment.
- Communication: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG, and electronic medical record software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
