Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update patient records in the EHR system.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist physicians during patient visits.
- Phlebotomy: Perform venipunctures and collect blood samples for lab testing.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, handle phone inquiries, and manage patient referrals.
- Medication Administration: Assist with medication reconciliation and preparing injections as directed by providers.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow strict protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
