Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Perform initial patient assessments, verify demographics, and update medical records accurately in our EMR system.
- Support Clinical Operations: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, prepare examination rooms, and sterilize instruments.
- Manage Telehealth Visits: Facilitate remote patient consultations, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions and accurate documentation.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, process medical insurance claims, and handle incoming patient inquiries via phone and email.
- Medication Management: Assist with medication reconciliation and ensure all prescribed medications are documented correctly.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, OSHA guidelines, and hospital protocols to ensure patient safety and data privacy.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting is preferred.
- License: Current New York State Medical Assistant license (or willingness to obtain) is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Self-Directed: Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time management and organizational skills.
