Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify personal and insurance information, and ensure a welcoming environment upon arrival.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations and procedures.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Lab Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood (phlebotomy), and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage patient charts, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), and handle insurance billing inquiries.
- Room Preparation: Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies and sterilize equipment between patients.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Location: Must reside in San Antonio, TX.
