Responsibilities

  • Patient Intake & Check-In: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare charts for clinical review to ensure smooth clinic flow.
  • Vital Signs & Triage: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and height, and report any abnormalities to the provider.
  • Clinical Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, including wound care, EKGs, and phlebotomy as needed.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient scheduling, process referrals, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using our EMR system.
  • Medication & Supply Management: Prepare medications for administration, stock exam rooms, and ensure all medical supplies are properly inventoried and sterilized.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on medications, post-procedure care, and preventative health measures in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • Lab Coordination: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a valid CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or equivalent certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred; new graduates with externship experience will be considered.
  • Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required.
