Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure proper infection control protocols are followed.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as directed by the provider.
- Maintain and update accurate patient medical records and charts using EHR systems.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and answer incoming calls with a professional demeanor.
- Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a busy medical office or clinic setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software is preferred.
