Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or according to established protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team immediately.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, tracheostomy care, and feeding assistance.
- Document patient care services in medical records and reports.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Teach patients and their families about health conditions and self-care techniques.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
