Responsibilities
Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during clinical procedures.
Perform routine clinical duties, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and drawing blood (phlebotomy).
Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and document accurately in the EHR.
Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, verify insurance eligibility, and handle front-desk reception duties.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized clinical environment in compliance with infection control standards.
Communicate effectively with patients, providing education and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Assist with diagnostic testing, such as EKGs and spirometry, as required.
Qualifications
Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certification as a CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or NCMA is strongly preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a busy medical office or urgent care setting.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
