Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height measurements.
- Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and patient education.
- Manage patient records and electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe environment.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and insurance verification.
- Handle front-desk duties including answering phones and greeting patients warmly.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards.
