Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examination, assist physicians during exams, and provide basic nursing care.
- Vitals & Records: Accurately record patient medical histories, vital signs, and symptoms into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle insurance verification processes efficiently.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood samples, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and post-care instructions to ensure optimal recovery.
- Inventory Management: Maintain medical supplies and equipment, ensuring the exam rooms are clean and fully stocked.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA, RMA, or NCMA is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and Electronic Health Records software (Epic, Cerner, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
