Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes: Greet patients, verify insurance, and update medical records accurately.
- Vital signs and assessment: Measure blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by providers.
- Assist providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and provide support during patient visits.
- Phlebotomy & Lab: Perform blood draws and process laboratory specimens efficiently and safely.
- Administrative support: Manage patient scheduling, answer calls, and handle correspondence with precision.
- Medication administration: Prepare and administer medications as authorized by the physician.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Computer skills: Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Compassion: Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure in a busy healthcare environment.
