In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring their visits are smooth, welcoming, and efficient. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to provide high-quality clinical support in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Measure Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Assist with Exams: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, assist providers during patient examinations, and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Draw blood samples for lab tests, collect specimens, and ensure proper handling and labeling according to safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventative care measures to promote better health outcomes.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict cleanliness and sterilization standards for examination tools and clinical areas to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certified (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in recording patient data and handling medical supplies.
- Availability: Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet patient demand.
