Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake, vitals monitoring, and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Assist providers during clinical procedures and administer medications as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing (POCT) including blood draws and urinalysis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Ensure exam rooms are cleaned, stocked, and sanitized according to health protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding instructions, appointments, and test results.
  • Coordinate referrals and schedule follow-up appointments.

Qualifications

  • Current CMA or RMA certification from an accredited institution.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Nebraska state license to practice as a Medical Assistant.
