Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and recording vital signs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed by providers, and prepare patients for radiological examinations.
- Manage patient flow efficiently in the front office and back office to ensure minimal wait times.
- Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Handle confidential patient records with the highest level of integrity and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist providers during examinations with procedural support and patient education.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA certification preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work weekends or evenings as required by the practice schedule.
