Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate) and record data accurately.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and medical procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams, obtain medical histories, and provide pre-procedure education.
- Manage and maintain Electronic Health Records (EHR) with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with basic laboratory tasks, including specimen collection (phlebotomy) and point-of-care testing.
- Maintain a sterile, organized, and clean environment in exam rooms and waiting areas.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and manage daily schedules efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively and remain calm in high-volume situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software systems.
