Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient assessments, including vital signs, height, weight, and medical history review.
- Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider visits to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and perform basic EKGs as required.
- Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and insurance verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and directing inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
