Job Overview
The Medical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with gowns, drapes, and positioning.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood, and prepare injections for physicians.
- Administer EKGs and assist with minor procedures as directed.
- Maintain patient charts and medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and update medical histories.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Valid FL state license (if applicable).
